This effort includes threeprojects that prevent deforestation across 105,000 hectares of the rainforestin the Amazon basin. The project grants land tenure and provides agriculturaltraining to local communities. The portfolio is validated to the VerifiedCarbon Standard (VCS) and has achieved Gold Level status under the ClimateCommunity and Biodiversity (CCB) Standard.
The ING Group is committed to beingsustainable in its own operations. It has established its own internalprogramme, called the Environmental Programme, that it uses to measure andmonitor the impact of its operations on the environment. Via the RE100initiative, the ING Group has committed to powering its buildings through 100%renewable energy. This initiative extends to the ING Group’s operations,buildings and IT systems.

It aims toreduce scope 3 emissions from travel by 25% by the end of 2022. It aims toreduce overall energy consumption by 65% by the end of 2030.
